The YAD-Pakistan’s response towards SDG: 5: Gender Equality
Women and girls continue to suffer discrimination and violence in every part of the Pakistan. Providing women and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies at large. By supporting high quality carbon finance projects, businesses can deliver essential emission reductions and support low carbon sustainable development in areas most in need.
  • To foster an enabling environment for effective law, policy, legislation, reforms, result oriented and integrated communities action for gender equity and equality with responsive governance where women and men can exercise their rights & choices without any gender biases, stigma and discriminations in Pakistan
  • Make steady progress tell 2030, through legislation and integration of the gender perspective into all other policies and specific measures, sets out the commission’s ambitions for higher share of women in the labor market and lower gender gap in pay and pensions with a framework seeks to promote equality between women and men in decision making and to combat gender-based violence while protecting and supporting victims in Pakistan
  • Equal opportunities, including those between men and women, are also a central principle in the YAD pillar of social rights, access to structural and investment funds, programs and project with gender equality promotion in Pakistan
  • Acts through a set of actions and projects on gender equality focusing on the physical integrity of girls and women; their economic, civil, political, fundamental & social rights and empowerment; as well as their voice and participation in Pakistan
  • Provides capacity building and knowledge sharing in Pakistan, in emergency situations, humanitarian operations include projects on reproductive health, and address sexual and gender-based violence in Pakistan
  • Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation in Pakistan
  • Eliminate all harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage and deny inheritance right, marriages with Holy Qurain, honor killing & domestic violence in Pakistan
  • Recognize and value unpaid care and domestic work through the provision of public services, infrastructure and social protection policies and the promotion of shared responsibility within the household and the family as nationally appropriate in Pakistan
  • Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life in Pakistan
  • Undertake reforms to give women equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to ownership and control over land and other forms of property, financial services, inheritance and natural resources, in accordance with national laws in Pakistan
  • Enhance the use of enabling technology, in particular information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women in Pakistan
  • Adopt and strengthen sound policies and enforceable legislation for the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls at all levels in Pakistan
Gender equality and women’s empowerment is central to YAD-Pakistan’s mandate to achieving food security for all, improving agricultural productivity and ensuring the full participation of rural people in decision-making processes in Pakistan
